literally fuck companies that don’t want their employees to act “unprofessional” in front of customers. I’m at a five guys rn and the employees here are joking around calling orders back and forth to each other and saying things in weird voices and laughing with each other while they work. Someone just came in for their shift while I was waiting for my food and was greeted by the whole kitchen with a secret handshake lookin thing. It was so silly and cute I love seeing ppl have fun at work and I know my food’s gonna be bomb bc the ppl there are having fun with each other. Let employees be people and friends and have fun what is the issue!!!!

when i was reading the book entangled life which is about fungi and the author merlin sheldrake said that once he got his first author copies he was going to dampen the pages and use them to grow oyster mushrooms and yeast and then use the yeast to brew beer and then drink the beer with the mushrooms to complete the cycle of fungal knowledge. i was like really and truly this guy gets it

Here is the thing about anarchism and communism, of course. A lot of folks do not know shit about it, because in school we usually do not learn about it. Or if we learn about it, it is not much and often quite biased. As such, a lot of people do not know jackshit about anything that is not the current system of “democracy” and capitalism. We will learn about the “invisible hand of the market” as if it was factual (it is not). While if we learn anything about communism, it is probably gonna be paired with “look of the horrible things the Soviet Union (and therefore communism) did!”
Basically kids get primed early on that communism just cannot work. Which will also lead to adults in left wing spheres - even among punk groups, like Solarpunk - go: “Yeah, alright. Capitalism is bad. But we cannot do communism!” Because the people tend to not even understand, what those words even mean. Because they never got taught.
This kinda leads to those left wing ideas all being kinda more well known about with either groups who have historical ties to them (marginalized groups) or with people of higher education standards, who actually know how to read about those things - or, heck, watch youtube videos about the stuff.
And I think that really is the issue. A lot of people who will be so strictly against all those things, are against them, because they do not really know what they mean. All they have ever known is, that communism is evil and anarchism is violent. So, obviously they will not support that. And it also stops them from imagining a better world.
Admittedly, I do not have a solution. Because y'all know as well as I do, that nobody will allow any of this being taught in schools.
